Zelensky ready to meet Putin and asks Trump to organize a trilateral summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference after talks with Donald Trump that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that the White House chief of staff can help organize a trilateral meeting. Ukrainska Pravda writes this, reporting Zelensky's press conference.

"The most important thing the president (Trump, ed.) can do, including the issues I raised earlier today - he said - is to organize a trilateral meeting in which all sensitive topics can be discussed by the leaders of the countries". Asked if this meant a willingness to meet Putin, Zelensky replied: "Yes, I am ready to meet Putin at any time. I think we should all move as quickly as possible (to end the war, ed.)."

At the same time, Zelensky criticized the approach that talks are held to end the war, but nothing is done about it. “If it is said that we must end the war through dialogue, it means that we must meet and talk,” Zelensky said, adding that this must happen despite “hatred.”

Zelensky also said that Trump is "positive" about granting Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot missiles. "We asked the president to help us speed up this process. He is in favor of issuing licenses," Zelensky said.

He recalled that the Ukrainian side started negotiations with the company manufacturing the Patriot RTX (Raytheon) and received a signal from the latter of readiness for such cooperation.

According to Zelensky, starting production of Patriot systems in Ukraine could take about a year and a half.

"We will start this project - said Zelensky - I don't know if it will take a year or a year and a half, but it is for the future... We will need our own production of these missiles, even when we produce our own anti-missile system. But in any case, we are counting on the Patriots", said the president.
