The Legislative Yuan today (29th) held a registered vote on the personnel consent case of the 7th Supervisory Yuan. Chen Yongxing, the nominee for the Supervisory Yuan, Wang Rongzhang, the vice president nominee, and 25 nominees for the Supervisory Committee were once again completely blocked by Blue and White. Looking back at the 11th Legislative Yuan since its inauguration, the opposition parties have launched 12 waves of "hunting" various personnel cases through voting blocking, selective vetoing, and delayed review.
Blue and White have completely vetoed the Senate personnel consent bill six times in this session of Congress. President Lai Ching-te twice proposed the list of justices for the Judicial Yuan, and the votes were held in December 2024 and July 2025 respectively. All seven nominees in each of the two batches were not approved; the Executive Yuan proposed four more NCC members including Jiang Rongxian in 2025, and all of them failed to pass the test in November of the same year. Subsequently, in May this year, the nominee for Attorney General Xu Xixiang was rejected. In July, the Executive Yuan nominated three Central Election Committee members, including Shu Fei Shun, Cai Weizhe, and Huang Mouxin, but all failed to pass the test. Today, all 27 nominees of the Control Yuan were wiped out.
In addition to comprehensive vetoes, Blue and White also "selectively vetoed" specific candidates through different voting combinations. In the personnel case of the Examination Yuan in December 2024, only Ke Liling, the nominee of the examination committee member, failed; in the personnel case of the Fair Association in January 2025, the Legislative Yuan agreed with Chen Zhimin and Lin Qingtang, but Li Mei and member Hong Cailong, who were seeking to be re-elected as chairman, were rejected. In the personnel case of the central election committee in March this year, You Yinglong, Li Lizhong, Su Jiahong and Su Ziqiao were approved, but the three nominees Hu Boyan, Huang Wenling and Chen Zongyi did not pass the test.
In addition, the first wave of NCC member lists proposed by the Executive Yuan at the end of April 2024 have not yet entered the substantive vote of the Council. During this period, matters reported in the Procedure Committee and Council were blocked. In terms of personnel cases for public television directors, representatives of the Blue and White review committee first approved only 4 out of the 14 names proposed by the Ministry of Culture at the review meeting in December 2025. However, when the Ministry of Culture proposed a second list this year that included former professional baseball player Peng Zhengmin and others, the Blue and White review committee collectively resigned on the eve of the review meeting, causing the personnel case to be delayed again.
As for the personnel case of the Supervisory Yuan, Chen Yongxing was originally nominated as the Supervisory President, Wang Rongzhang as the Vice President, and 27 supervisory committee members, but Liao Wanru and Xie Zhengda have withdrawn. The Legislative Yuan will hold a registered vote on the personnel consent case today. According to regulations, it must be approved by more than 1/2 of all legislators. However, none of them obtained the legal number of votes (57 votes), and they were determined to be completely banned by Blue and White again.
