It was found after trial that from the second half of 2006 to March 2025, the defendant Peng Xiaochun used his position as deputy secretary of the Liuzhou Municipal Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liudong New District, deputy secretary-general of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, director of the General Office, director of the Policy Research Office, and director of the Hezhou Municipal Party Committee. Secretary, Baise Municipal Party Committee Secretary, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other positions, provided assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as project contracting, payment allocation, project approval, etc., and illegally received property directly or through others, totaling more than 263 million yuan.
The Foshan Intermediate People's Court held that the defendant Peng Xiaochun's behavior constituted the crime of accepting bribes. The amount of bribes Peng Xiaochun accepted was extremely huge and caused extremely heavy losses to the interests of the country and the people. He should be sentenced to death for his crime.
