According to the child’s mother, she picked up her daughter from kindergarten wearing bloody socks, and there was blood on the napkins on her injured arm. The Russian woman stated that her daughter received fractures of two fingers when her hand was pressed by a door while returning from a walk and allegedly there were no adults near the child at that time.

The situation was commented on by the city department of education. Officials appointed a commission to investigate the accident, as well as an internal audit of the employees. The prosecutor's office is also investigating the incident.
