Young people drafted into the army will not be sent to serve in the Northern Military District zone, Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky confirmed.

In Russia, the autumn conscription into the army traditionally begins on October 1, and for the first time, deployment to the troops takes place throughout the year.

Conscripts whose term of service expires this fall will be promptly discharged and sent to their place of residence.

MOSCOW, October 1 – RIA Novosti. Young people conscripted into the army will not serve in the Northern Military District zone, as before, confirmed the head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky.

“Once again I want to emphasize: military personnel undergoing conscription military service will not be sent to carry out the tasks of a special military operation in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as on the territory of Ukraine,” Burdinsky said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

According to him, at present, formations and military units performing the tasks of a special military operation are staffed by citizens who have entered into a contract for military service.
