Yang Gyu-seo, organizing director of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, holds a one-person high-altitude demonstration on the outer wall of the Kyunghyang Shinmun building.

Yang Gyu-seo, the organizing director of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' National Public Transport and Social Services Union, is holding a one-person high-altitude protest by hanging from the 10th floor of a building.

According to Yonhap News coverage on the 6th, Director Yang has been protesting since around 5:30 a.m. on this day, hanging from a rope on the outer wall of the Kyunghyang Shinmun building in Jung-gu, Seoul, where the office of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions is located.

According to officials at the scene, Mr. Yang went to the protest to protest, saying, "Following my wife's unfair dismissal, I was also disciplined."

Director Yang claims that his wife previously worked at the Seoul branch of the Public Transport Workers' Union Medical Solidarity and was fired about two years ago after suffering from workplace bullying and industrial accidents.

Director Yang added that he was recently suspended for 16 months while raising the issue of his wife's unfair dismissal.

In response, an official from the Public Transport Workers' Union countered, saying, "The Central Labor Relations Commission and the courts found no problem with Director Yang's wife's claims of workplace harassment or unfair dismissal," and added, "The reason for Director Yang's disciplinary action is also unrelated to this."

He continued, “There are many parts of (Director Yang’s) claims that are not true, and their legitimacy is questionable.”

Fire and police authorities are preparing for any accident by deploying a ladder truck at the site and installing air mats on the ground.
