The Double Ninth Festival is approaching. The Chiayi County Government will send personnel to various villages starting from October 12 to distribute Double Ninth Festival gift money to the elderly. The number of people eligible to receive the gift money is approximately 116,824, an increase of 3,448 people from last year. Among them, each person aged 65 to 89 can receive a gift of 3,000 yuan, each person aged 90 to 99 can receive 6,000 yuan, and each person over 100 years old can receive a gift of 9,000 yuan. A total of 369.35 million yuan is expected to be distributed.

The county government recently hosted a distribution briefing meeting hosted by Secretary-General Luo Muxing, and invited all bureaus, townships and municipal offices to attend the meeting, hoping that the division of labor process would be smoother and more complete. The county government stated that as of the end of August this year, the proportion of the elderly population reached 24.74%. County Mayor Weng Zhangliang said that "old people have the upper hand" and have worked hard for their families and this land for many years. The county government stated that the recipients of the gift money for the elderly are those who have reached the age of 65 before the Double Ninth Festival (including the day, based on actual age), and have registered six months ago, and are still registered one month before the Double Ninth Festival. Elders should prepare the original ID card and seal to receive it. This year we will continue to maintain the parallel flow of cash and remittances. Those who have previously applied for remittances will continue to receive them by remittance this year without having to submit a new application. According to statistics, the number of remittances this year was 34,769 people, totaling 197,977,000 yuan, and the number of cash disbursements was 82,055 people, totaling 259,545,000 yuan.

All bureaus and offices of the Chiayi County Government will distribute the money in person or at designated points in each village from October 12 to October 16. The collection period is one month (October 12 to November 12); for those who apply for remittance, the office will transfer the funds to their accounts before October 8; for people in the county who are over 100 years old, Weng Zhangliang will go to congratulate him in person or have a representative from the office to express condolences.
