Aichi/Nagoya Asian Games, 100 days until opening, medals and more unveiled at event

The torch of the torch relay, the uniforms of the runners, and the medals awarded to the winners were unveiled. The medal, which is shaped like two broken disks put together, was created by Daisuke Shiba (40), a designer from Osaka Prefecture. Inspired by the tournament slogan "IMAGINE ONE ASIA". The name is said to reflect the idea of ​​``uniting as one through sports.'' ``It seems like (the tournament) is not yet well known outside of Aichi, so I hope it will become a big hit in other parts of the world,'' he said.

Prior to this, a ceremony was held in Nagoya City, inviting actor Ken Matsudaira, and those involved spoke on stage and said, ``Let's get excited for the opening.''

The detailed schedule for the torch relay, which will begin on August 22nd, has also been announced. The fire is scheduled to be lit at Tokyo's National Stadium on August 18th, at Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park on the 20th, and at Nagoya Castle on the 22nd.
