During the 140th Canton Fair, 1.26 million people entered and exited Guangzhou Port

China News Service, Guangzhou, November 5 (Fang Weibin, Shi Xueqing, Zeng Zixuan) The 140th China Import and Export Fair concluded in Guangzhou on November 4. Statistics from the Guangzhou Border Inspection General Station show that from October 15 to November 4, the ports under its jurisdiction protected a total of 1.26 million entry-exit persons, an increase of 4.3% over the same period last year. Among them, 350,000 foreigners entered the country, accounting for 58% of the total arrivals.

Judging from the passenger flow trend, the segmented characteristics of the inbound and outbound passenger flow at the port during this Canton Fair are obvious, with the highest single-day inbound and outbound passenger flow reaching 64,000. October 15th saw the peak of inbound passenger flow, with 35,000 inbound passengers inspected in a single day, including 24,000 foreigners; October 26th saw the peak of outbound passenger flow, with 33,000 outbound persons inspected in a single day.

The visa-free bonus and business demand are superimposed, and the customer source structure is more "international". Exhibitors and business travelers are an important part of the port passenger flow during this Canton Fair. Among foreigners entering the country, 200,000 entered the country under the visa-free policy, accounting for 57% of the total number of foreigners entering the country; 76,000 entered the country with business visas, accounting for 22%. The Canton Fair continues to play its role as a platform connecting China and the world, and personnel exchanges and economic and trade exchanges remain active.

Airport and water transportation are coordinated, and 16 measures are taken to ensure customs clearance. From the perspective of port distribution, the Baiyun Airport Port has more than 1.2 million entry and exit personnel and more than 7,400 inbound and outbound flights, an increase of 7% and 6% respectively compared with the previous Canton Fair; Nansha Passenger Port, Pazhou Passenger Port, Dongguan Humen Passenger Port and other water transport ports have inspected a total of 35,000 entry and exit personnel.

In response to the characteristics of passenger flow, Guangzhou Immigration Inspection Station has introduced 16 measures to ensure services for the Canton Fair, strengthen police support during peak hours, open sufficient inspection channels, set up special channels for the Canton Fair, and strengthen multilingual consultation and guidance; implement "one group, one policy" for important foreign guests and exhibitor groups to improve the efficiency of group customs clearance.
