Minning Mountain and Sea Research Institute is co-sponsored by Xiamen University and Ningxia University. More than 60 people from Fujian Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, as well as relevant leaders, experts and scholars from the two universities participated in the event.

Zhang Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiamen University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said in his speech that Xiamen University has always been a staunch participant and active practitioner of Minning cooperation. The school has continued to carry out educational assistance for a long time, and the targeted assistance in Lunde has achieved remarkable results. Since establishing a counterpart and joint relationship with Ningxia University in 2018, the two parties have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in areas such as talent training and scientific research. He said that the Minning Institute of Shanhai Tongxin will rely on the advantages of the research bases of the two universities to promote the practical experience of Minning collaboration to achieve a value jump from practical exploration to academic explanation. He hoped that both parties would delve deep into theoretical collaboration to tackle key problems, adhere to research and application and provide front-line services, focus on talent cultivation and lay a solid foundation, and jointly build the institute into a national cross-regional collaboration demonstration platform.
Wang Hongwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningxia University, said in his speech that the launch of the joint construction of the Minning Institute of Shanhai Tongxin is an important achievement of the thirty-year collaboration between Minning and Ningxia in the field of higher education. The collaborative working pattern of "Guidance from the Ministry of Education, overall promotion by provinces and regions, implementation between schools, and linkage between colleges" has achieved a profound transformation from "blood transfusion support" to "hematopoietic co-construction", from one-way assistance to two-way empowerment, and has produced fruitful results in the fields of discipline construction, scientific research, and talent training. He said that Ningxia University will regard the construction of the research institute as an important starting point for deepening Minning cooperation, strengthen collaboration, deepen cooperation, jointly tap and practice rich mineral resources, and cultivate outstanding talents.
The signing ceremony of the "Co-construction Agreement of Minning Shanhai Tongxin Research Institute" and the release ceremony of research results were held at the event site. An academic seminar on the concentricity of mountains and seas in Minning was also held on the same day. As the first academic exchange event held after the establishment of the institute, participating experts and scholars conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions around the theme of "Concentricity of Minning Mountains and Seas to Serve High-Quality Development".
The launch of the joint construction of the Minning Institute of Shanhai Tongxin marks the beginning of a new chapter in the pragmatic cooperation between universities in Minning and Ningxia. In the future, the two universities will adhere to the "six-community" construction concept of joint research on theory, joint construction of platforms, joint cultivation of talents, sharing of achievements, cultural integration, and joint promotion of development.
