This time the gold medal has two strengths, one is manufacturing and engineering, and the other is structure and architecture. In addition, it has won six consecutive championships in CNC milling. Why can we maintain these strengths all year round? What does this have to do with the current status of our country’s industrial base?

In the process of these competitions, there is a very good expert team that combines school and enterprise. From the 41st to the 48th session, these expert teams have studied the standards of our competition very thoroughly, and they are also very profound about the development and leadership of our technology. So our standard study of it is a key point.
We have a very good, grassroots, school-level coaching team, which has laid a very good foundation for our player selection process.
We have also explored a set of scientific training methods, which we call tough and strict, developed from actual combat, large amount of exercise, all-round, and no dead ends.

Promote the integration of industry and education based on practical teachers
Combing the data from the past five years shows that about 70% of medal winners and gold medal winners went to teach in vocational colleges and were directly transformed into coaching experts, and 20% went to front-line technical positions in production companies. Is such a distribution ideal?

These teachers go to our school to train players on the front line. They are not only a master, teaching our players step by step in training, but also a teacher who needs to explore our teaching rules and methods. Our player training is a very good training ground for teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. Therefore, after our award-winning contestants become teachers through this competition, I believe that by guiding their contestants, they will become very good teachers in the future. At the same time, our teachers with practical capabilities are also a very good teaching team for our school-enterprise cooperation and the integration of industry and education. They can lead the team to help the development of the enterprise, and can also lead the team to achieve better results in education, teaching, and serving the society.

During the 48th World Skills Competition, many schools, companies, and professionals were on site to demonstrate, communicate, and observe. In particular, we found that many children from primary and secondary schools were also observing and learning. In fact, after passing this, it should be said that most people can realize that our enterprises and our society need skilled talents, and the future of skilled talents is also very promising. The vision of our WorldSkills Competition is to use the power of skills to change the world. We believe that through the 48th WorldSkills Competition, our governments at all levels, enterprises at all levels, colleges and universities at all levels, and personnel at all levels will pay attention to the growth of our skilled talents, realize the skills of our skilled talents, and serve the country with their skills.
Guangdong takes the lead in connecting industries with World Games
Guangdong is a gold medal winner in the World Skills Competition. Its total number of skilled talents is 22.38 million, including 8.43 million highly skilled talents, ranking first in the country. There are 596 vocational schools with more than 3 million students enrolled, ranking first in the country. The employment rate of graduates from technical colleges in Guangdong Province remains stable at over 98%. Why can Guangdong do it?
Yuan Dingfei, Director of the WorldSkills China (Guangzhou) Research Center: Guangdong was early to pay attention to the WorldSkills Competition. In 2009, the year before our country joined the WorldSkills Organization, Guangzhou sent personnel to Canada to observe the 40th WorldSkills Competition, taking the lead in taking steps to connect with the WorldSkills Competition. Later, systematic and targeted research was carried out on the World Championships, forming a relatively mature experience system for preparing for the competition.
In terms of player training, Guangdong mainly relies on the industry, enterprises, and vocational school network to discover some good talents and form an echelon training pattern. At the same time, relying on municipal, provincial and national competitions, a tiered competition training system has been formed. Another more important aspect is that the training of contestants in Guangdong has always been deeply consistent with the industrial layout. Some of the participating projects in Guangdong are mainly concentrated in the fields of advanced manufacturing, strategic emerging industries and modern service industries, which are highly consistent with the direction of Guangdong's modern industrial system construction.
In other words, whatever the industry needs, we practice in preparation for competitions. There is a positive interaction between competition and industry.
Benchmarking world competition standards, industry-education collaboration to cultivate craftsmen
In the World Skills Competition, CNC milling has won the championship for six consecutive years. The six gold medal players are all from Guangdong Provincial Mechanical Technician College. Are there many Guangdongs like this that can maintain an advantage in a certain special event all year round? How can this advantage be transferred to the production line?
Yuan Dingfei, director of the WorldSkills China (Guangzhou) Research Center: Indeed, there are many such projects in Guangdong. For example, Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College won two consecutive championships in the fine woodworking project, Guangzhou Mechanical and Electrical Technician College won two consecutive championships in the robot system integration project, Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College won three consecutive championships in the mobile application development project, and two consecutive championships in the CAD mechanical design project. For each participating project, the technical standards of the World Championship are leading. Various colleges and universities in Guangdong have taken the initiative to integrate the advanced standards of the World Championship into professional courses and develop new majors based on the World Championship standards. For example, relying on mobile robot projects to develop service robot application and maintenance majors, business software solution projects have been transformed into curriculum systems, forming a normalized mechanism for competition event transformation and professional construction, as well as course teaching. At the same time, Guangdong is also vigorously developing the skills ecological chain foundation of industry-education evaluation, building technician workstations in enterprises, shared training bases between schools and enterprises, etc., and cultivating new craftsmen for enterprises through various forms.
