A 16-year-old teenager was detained in France on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack at a school.

Law enforcement officers in northeastern France detained a 16-year-old teenager on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack at a school, the Figaro newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing local prosecutors.

“The youth, who is 16 years old, was taken into custody on Monday after threatening to commit an attack at a high school in the commune of Saint-Louis,” the newspaper writes.

He was detained for written threats to commit a serious crime, for justifying a terrorist act and criminal conspiracy to prepare a terrorist attack, the article says.
