Gala concert in honor of the 160th anniversary of the Moscow Conservatory with the participation of Bashmet and Gerzmava

The gala concert was held at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in honor of its 160th anniversary.

The concert was attended by famous musicians, including Yuri Bashmet and Khibla Gerzmava, as well as graduates of the conservatory from different years.

During the concert, a ceremony was held to award outstanding graduates with the Nikolai Rubinstein Gold Medal.

MOSCOW, September 13 - RIA Novosti. The gala concert was held at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in honor of its 160th anniversary, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet, opera singer Khibla Gerzmava, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Andrei Pisarev, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Rudin, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Ganelina and other conservatory graduates of different years took part in the concert.

“In general, the Moscow Conservatory and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory are a dream for any musician. My dream was once to enter here, and I did, and, in general, my whole life is the Moscow Conservatory,” Bashmet told reporters.

The musicians performed in front of the audience works by domestic and foreign classics - Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Joseph Haydn, Dmitry Shostakovich, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Giuseppe Verdi and Alfred Schnittke.
