中国科学院古脊椎所所长、中国古脊椎动物学会理事长徐星院士代表主办方致辞,他回顾过去两年间中国古脊椎动物学与古人类学领域取得的重大进展认为,这些突破性成果的产出,充分彰显了中国古脊椎动物学与古人类学蓬勃发展的良好态势。

徐星表示,哈密是丝绸之路中道的咽喉要地,以焉不拉克墓地为代表的青铜时代考古发现自20世纪起已闻名学界;2005年,中国科学院古脊椎所邱占祥院士、王伴月研究员在哈密从碎骨中辨认出翼龙,揭开了哈密这一世界级化石宝库的研究序幕。

他说,自那之后,20多年来,以汪筱林研究员为代表的科研团队在此艰苦奋斗、上下求索,取得一系列突破性的重大发现,先后在《科学》(Science)等国际顶尖期刊发表重要文章,命名并确立了哈密翼龙动物群,哈密也由此被誉为“翼龙伊甸园”。

会议开幕式上,2026年度第七届“杨钟健科学传播奖”揭晓并颁奖,中国古脊椎动物学会授予哈密市博物馆“中国古脊椎动物学会科普教育基地”称号。

大会报告内容涵盖哈密翼龙动物群研究、中国与巴西二十年合作研究回顾、第四纪中国哺乳动物古基因组研究、早期硬骨鱼类结构创新、中国南方早中更新世洞穴堆积哺乳动物群中的人类演化问题、功能形态学及其在古脊椎动物研究中的应用等前沿领域。

分会报告则从多个角度展示古脊椎动物学、古人类学、旧石器考古学、分子生物学、古环境学、博物馆建设与科普传播等领域的最新成果与进展。此外,会议还安排103场口头报告、60个展板报告。

据悉,本次会议报告中由学术中坚力量、青年学者和研究生完成的报告占比超过90%,青年人才正在成为学科发展的生力军。
