Kaohsiung Niaosong house fire spreads to factory building, killing 19-year-old and 17-year-old brothers

A house fire broke out in Lane 8, Zhongcheng Road, Niaosong District, Kaohsiung City at 8 a.m. today (8th). The fire quickly spread to a factory on Zhongzheng Road. It was reported that two men were trapped in the house. The Kaohsiung Fire Department put out the fire at 10:24 and found the bodies of a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old brother in a house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire was so intense that it spread to factories Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 of 161 Zhongzheng Road. The Renwu Police Station is currently implementing traffic control on the north-south lanes of Zhongzheng Road in Niaosong District and the lanes to and from Zhongzheng Road on Zhongcheng Road.

It was initially determined that all the residents of the house on fire had been evacuated. The owner of the house, Lin Nan, said that the fire was suspected to have started on the rear balcony on the first floor. It was reported that two men were waiting for rescue inside the house at No. 161-5 Zhongzheng Road. However, after firefighters extinguished the fire, the brother was apparently dead.
