Sevim Dagdelen called for Germany to leave NATO

Foreign policy expert of the German party "Sarah Wagenknecht Union - For Reason and Justice" (SSV) Sevim Dagdelen advocated Germany's withdrawal from NATO for the sake of the country's self-preservation.

“Like the youth wing of the NER, I say here directly and unequivocally: Germany must leave NATO. We need a neutral country that will no longer follow the dictates of the interests of American corporations and oligarchs,” Dagdelen said in an interview with Overton-Magazin.

The politician emphasized that NATO is not a value-based or defensive alliance, and those who are “for” NATO, in fact, support the scenario of a world war.

“Currently, 52% of the population (of Germany - ed.) are in favor of improving relations with Russia. NATO, on the contrary, is moving towards a total escalation against Russia. Germany must break out of this logic - if only for the sake of self-preservation,” Dagdelen said.

In recent years, Russia has seen unprecedented NATO activity along its western borders. The alliance is expanding initiatives and calling it "containment of Russian aggression." Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the buildup of alliance forces in Europe.
