Another female body found in Ekurhuleni, South Africa, the 10th case in the past two months

South African police today discovered another female body in Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg. This is the 10th female body found in the city in the past two months.

AFP reported that South African police stated that the body was found in the town of Tembisa, but did not provide further details.

Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili said: "At this stage we can only confirm that the body has been found. Crime scene managers and all necessary relevant personnel are currently at the scene."

Local television station eNCA reported that the half-naked body was found in a cemetery.

The other nine victims were mostly in their 20s to 30s. Some of them were found stripped of their clothes and showed signs of sexual assault.

The first victim, a 37-year-old woman, was found naked and bound with a belt on July 15. A suspect was arrested two days later.

The other two suspects are 31-year-old and 38-year-old women. They were arrested in connection with the case involving the ninth victim and were charged on the 21st.

Police said the case may have stemmed from an emotional dispute.

South Africa, with a population of 62 million, has one of the highest murder rates in the world, with an average of more than 60 murders per day.
