The statement stated, "Recently, our drama troupe has been receiving reports from the public claiming that Mr. Chen Jiahong was suspected of committing huge amounts of fraud by using the name of Ming Hua Yuan Drama Troupe and Mr. Sun Cuifeng and Ming Hua Yuan's children's troupe, causing the defrauded people to suffer financial losses and mental harm." In order to avoid misunderstandings from the outside world about the Ming Hua Yuan troupes, a joint statement was issued.

The statement first pointed out that in 1986, the main group and the eight sub-groups of Minghuayuan operated independently, with independent business and financial independence.
