A dementia patient and two police officers were rescued after being isolated on a seaside rock in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do.

At 6:08 p.m. on the 26th, a report was received that three people, including A, a man in his 60s, and two police officers who were looking for him, were stranded on the seaside rock near Morye Port in Hyangchon-dong, Sacheon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.

The Sacheon Marine Police Station deployed a rescue team and rescued them all.

The police began a search after receiving a report from the family of Mr. A, who suffers from dementia, that his loitering detector signal was not detected after he left home at around 1:05 pm on this day.

The police officers found Mr. A and climbed onto the seaside rocks, but it was determined that he was unable to get out as the tide rose.

An official from the Sacheon Coast Guard said, “If you are not aware of the high tide time when approaching the coast or seaside rocks, you need to be careful as it can quickly lead to an isolated accident.”
