Code yellow warning for 20 provinces: Heavy showers are expected

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a yellow code warning for 20 provinces across Türkiye and stated that local heavy showers and thunderstorms were expected in the provinces.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that, according to the latest information received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, local heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected today in Kütahya, Ankara, Eskişehir, Çankırı and Kırıkkale surroundings and in the north of Konya.

ISTANBUL, KOCAELI AND BALIKESİR...

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that heavy rainfall was expected in the northern parts of Istanbul, Kocaeli and Balıkesir and in the east of Çanakkale.

It was noted that strong and sometimes very strong showers and thunderstorms were predicted in the east of Marmara, around Kocaeli, Bursa, Yalova, Bilecik and Sakarya and especially in the northern and eastern parts of Istanbul.

It was stated that local heavy showers were expected in Düzce, Zonguldak, Bartın, Bolu and Karabük surroundings, as well as in the northern districts of Kastamonu and the western districts of Sinop.

The Ministry warned citizens to be careful and cautious against negativities such as sudden floods, floods, lightning, strong winds during rainfall and disruptions in transportation.

In the statement, citizens were asked to take into account the warnings of the competent authorities.
