At the 2026 Service Trade Fair, Beijing's Shijingshan District will integrate the "waste-free" concept into many aspects such as venue construction, exhibition hall construction, and audience services, giving this exhibition a distinctive "green label."

It is reported that Beijing's Shijingshan District adheres to the concept of green development, promotes the construction of a "waste-free city" and integrates the no-waste concept into the entire process of the CIFTIS to create a characteristic brand of the "Zero-Waste CIFTIS". The Shijingshan District Ecological Environment Bureau teamed up with several units to formulate the "Implementation Plan for the 2026 Shijingshan District "Waste-Free Services Trade Fair"", which refined 15 specific indicators around the four aspects of solid waste reduction, resource utilization, detoxification and science popularization. Through quantitative standards, a waste-free exhibition system integrating venue construction, conferences and exhibitions, and service guarantees was established, so that waste-free exhibitions have standards, can be implemented, and can be evaluated.
Among them, Halls 2, 3, and 4 of the Service Trade Fair are newly built exhibition halls this year. Prefabricated buildings account for 78.1% of the venues, which greatly reduces the generation of solid waste during the construction phase. After the Service Trade Fair, the venue will be "one venue with multiple uses" and can host various high-end conferences, brand launches and other activities, achieving long-term reuse of the space. Nearly 3,200 square meters of photovoltaic integrated curtain walls are paved on the west and south facades of Hall 4. 1,157 photovoltaic modules are both building envelopes and power generation units. The power generated per hour is equivalent to the electricity consumption of a household for 20 consecutive days in summer. It is the largest photovoltaic curtain wall in Beijing. The underground refrigeration machine room of the venue adopts a comprehensive configuration solution of magnetic levitation chiller and variable frequency centrifugal unit, which reduces energy consumption by about 20% compared with traditional electric refrigeration machine rooms.
In order to reduce the waste generated during the exhibition construction process, the exhibition unit has clarified the green construction classification standards, and the recycling rate of construction materials for both types of structures has reached 100%; it has established a multi-category exhibition material leasing system, and priority rental of exhibition equipment, temporary booths, etc. After the exhibition is dismantled, the components are uniformly recycled and can be reused across exhibitions; "paperless exhibitions" are promoted, and electronic tickets and electronic manuals are fully covered.
At the same time, there are 3 "Clean Water Diary" direct drinking water stations, 2 external direct drinking water points and 2 indoor direct drinking water dispensers in the venue. The direct drinking water uses an ozone-composite activated carbon catalyst online symbiosis process to achieve zero wastewater discharge throughout the process. 16 sets of intelligent recycling equipment support the recycling of all categories of paper, plastics, metals and small electronic products. Nine sets of recycled material seats made from discarded milk cartons were placed in the leisure area, turning "recycled waste" into "convenient and practical facilities".
