China News Service, Erenhot, May 20 (Li Aiping, Liang Xiaohong) According to the latest statistics from Erlian Customs, as of May 18, the number of entry and exit vehicles at the Erenhot Highway Port in 2026 will reach 100,062, and the progress of exceeding 100,000 vehicles is 15 days ahead of last year.

The Erenhot Highway Port was opened in 1992. It is the largest land port between China and Mongolia and offers a complete range of trade categories. The port mainly exports building materials, daily chemicals, fruits and vegetables and other daily necessities to Mongolia, and imports coal, fluorite and other minerals, as well as beef, mutton, cashmere and other livestock products. At present, more than 70% of Mongolia's light industrial building materials and about 80% of fruits and vegetables enter the country through this port, which is an important trade channel that protects local people's livelihood.

Relying on its location advantages, Erenhot Port connects the domestic economic belt and the core areas of Mongolia. After the Erenhot area of ​​the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone was approved in April this year, the vitality of port customs clearance increased significantly. From April 9 to May 18, the number of inbound and outbound vehicles reached 38,747.

Jiang Yang, deputy director of Erlian Customs, said that this year the port will continue to improve customs clearance conditions. Starting from May 1, delayed customs clearance will be implemented from 8:00 to 21:00 every day for 13 hours. The policy is valid for 6 months.

In the next step, the port will continue to improve customs clearance services, stabilize cross-border trade between China and Mongolia, and promote the stable development of local foreign trade. (over)
