"Together, Build the Heart of China" 2026 "Half the Sky Health Care Plan" summary meeting was held in Beijing

China News Service, Beijing, September 30 (Reporter Xu Xueying) The summary meeting of the 2026 "Half the Sky Health Care Plan" of "Together, Build the Heart of China" was held in Beijing on September 29.

The meeting reviewed the achievements of the "Together, Build the Heart of China" public welfare project in Lhasa, Tibet and the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in July this year to carry out large-scale medical public welfare assistance activities, summarized the local promotion of the "Half the Sky Health Care Plan", and discussed the long-term assistance mechanism for women's health in plateau areas.

"Health is the foundation for rural revitalization. We must accurately deploy high-quality medical resources so that plateau sisters can see famous doctors at their doorstep." said Wang Jianliu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University People's Hospital. Experts attending the meeting believed that the "Half the Sky Health Care Plan" is not only a series of free clinics and surgeries, but also builds a healthy defense line for plateau women and allows them to feel the warmth of the motherland's big family.

In July this year, "Together, Build the Heart of China" organized more than a thousand medical volunteers to go to Lhasa and along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway to carry out annual large-scale medical public welfare activities. As an important part of the activity, the "Half the Sky Health Care Plan" is led by Wang Jianliu and organizes 52 gynecological experts in the capital to go to the grassroots front lines to carry out disease screening, free gynecological clinics and publicity and education for local women of all ethnic groups, so as to make up for the shortcomings in women's health services at the grassroots level. During this period, a total of 5 surgeries were completed, 15 grassroots training sessions, 15 guided ward rounds were carried out, and more than 3,000 free clinic visits were made.
