MOSCOW, September 28 – RIA Novosti. The 2026 Russian Dance Sports Championship and Championship ended in Yekaterinburg; for the first time in history, official competitions in solo disciplines took place.
"Athletes can now receive ranks without a partner"
The tournament took place from September 23 to 27. It was in the “solo” in the European program that the first set of medals at the Russian Championship was played out on Wednesday. The historical first place was taken by Daria Chudakova from Yalta. The second - from the representative of Smolensk Vera Golovinskaya, the third - from Victoria Nikolova from Balashikha. In total, 535 athletes from 57 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in competitions in this discipline.
“First of all, I am pleased that this discipline has acquired official status,” emphasized Nadezhda Erastova, president of the All-Russian Federation of Dance Sports, Breaking and Acrobatic Rock and Roll. “Previously, it existed as a mass sport and a source of income for some. And the fact that we have now given the opportunity for this discipline to officially enter the dance family is a positive moment. The number of athletes is encouraging. But the most important thing is that, watching the athletes, I caught myself thoughts that our wonderful girls have the opportunity to receive sports categories and titles. These girls, without a partner, are able to stand perfectly in balance, and balance is the basis of dance for an athlete.”
On Thursday, Chudakova again had no equal in the “solo” in the Latin American program. The second and third places were taken by Moscow representatives Tatyana Monakhova and Anastasia Shamarova, respectively.
“I’m not surprised, because the girl had good training. And she was judged by 11 arbitrators. And if their assessments coincided, then so be it,” Erastova noted.
"Russian ensembles are the best in the world"
The Russian Dance Sports Championship was held in two disciplines: “ensemble – European program” and “ensemble – Latin American program”.
In the Latin American program among adults, Tyumen representatives from the Vera club took gold with the Swan Fidelity program. Perm won silver (MAU DO SSHOR Orlyonok, composition “Out of Time”). The formation team "VeraTsST" from Tyumen with the composition "YOU and ME" became bronze medalists of the Russian Championship.
In the European program, the team "Vera" from Tyumen and their number "Carmen" won the Russian championship. The MAU DO SSHOR team "Orlyonok", TSK "Duet" from Perm and the composition "Connecting Hearts" rose to the second step of the podium. Bronze was won by representatives of Tyumen, the VeraTsST team and the Oscar composition.
“These ensembles were traditionally leading not only in Russia, but also in the world. They often competed with each other. They have many years of experience. And they are truly competitive,” noted the president of the federation.
On Friday, the finals of the All-Russian competitions in dance sports in the discipline of "combined" were held. The winners in the age group “men and women” were Veniamin Timofeev and Maria Lahey from Petrozavodsk. Silver went to Muscovites Ivan Khryashchev and Alexandra Minenkova. Moscow representatives Mikhail Yashchenko and Anastasia Gorshkova also took bronze.
Yekaterinburg creates good conditions for dancers and spectators.
On Saturday, at the all-Russian competition in the Latin American program in the adult age category, a couple from St. Petersburg, Taha Choshar and Diana Fedorova, won, second place went to Artem Goryunov and Elvira Lapteva from Krasnodar, third place went to Alexey Kapusta and Anna Romanova from Moscow.
The program of the All-Russian competitions among adults on Sunday concluded with the performances of dance couples in the European program. All couples showed a high level of performance. As a result, Ivan Reshetnikov and Elizaveta Kharinova took first place. The pair Daniil Tutarinov/Milana Oksas took second place, and Gleb Presnyakov and Sofia Tyurina took third place.
The competitions, held at the Ekaterinburg Expo Convention and Exhibition Center, caused a huge stir among fans who came to the Sverdlovsk region from all over Russia.
“We do everything for the athletes. These are the first starts of the new season. And here the athletes had the opportunity to demonstrate what they learned during the summer, what physical shape they were in. This is not the first time we have held tournaments in this complex. There are all conditions for athletes and spectators. Taking into account the fact that in the Russian Federation at the moment there is no specialized facility for dance sports - it is only in the project - we are pleased that Yekaterinburg kindly allows us to hold competitions here,” Erastova summed up.
