MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Kazakh athlete Yasmina Toksanbaeva was stripped of her gold medal at the Asian Games in Japan for using shoes that are not included in the World Athletics list, according to the website of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kazakhstan.

On Sunday, Toksanbaeva finished first in the marathon distance at the race walking competition. Based on the results of the mandatory inspection of the shoes of all winners, the technical delegates recorded the absence of Toksanbayeva’s shoes in the list of models approved by World Athletics.

“The result is cancelled. We fought to the end. Thanks to all my superheroes who fought for me! To the last. Starting from my personal trainer, the entire staff of the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan and ending with the Minister of Sports. According to the NOC of Kazakhstan, the organization “is in constant interaction with World Athletics, the Asian Athletics Association, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to provide the necessary support to the Kazakh athlete, as well as to consider the possibility of filing an appeal.”
