China News Service, Jinan, October 13 (Lv Yan) A reporter learned from a press conference held by the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government on the 13th that the 2026 National Agricultural Products Production and Marketing Conference (Northern Area) with the theme of "Agricultural and Commercial Internet Join Hands to Help Rural Revitalization" will be held at Linyi International Expo Center from October 22 to 25.

According to Cai Pei'an, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, this conference plans to set up three themed exhibition halls and public service areas, and plans and organizes the promotion of high-quality agricultural products and production and sales docking in the northern area, the construction and coordinated development of the "Smooth Link North" national agricultural products market, and the standardization and brand building of agricultural products e-commerce. More than 20 activities, including the integration of domestic and foreign trade of northern agricultural products and export cooperation and exchanges, and the transformation and upgrading of the AI-enabled agricultural products wholesale market, focused on displaying the characteristic high-quality agricultural products of 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in the northern region and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, promoting accurate matching between supply and demand and efficient integration of the production and marketing chain.

Cai Pei'an said that the conference gathered more than 1,200 suppliers and more than 1,500 purchasers, and various domestic and international, online and offline market entities gathered in Linyi to build a cross-regional and cross-border agricultural economic and trade exchange and cooperation channel. The exhibits cover all categories of grains and oils, fruits and vegetables, livestock and poultry, geographical indication products, green organic food, agricultural machinery and equipment, etc., to realize the centralized display of high-quality and characteristic agricultural products from the north, open up the cross-regional circulation channel of northern agricultural products, realize the one-stop centralized purchase of "good things from the north", and provide both supply and demand parties with a variety of product selection and negotiation scenarios with rich categories and diverse choices.

"China is a major producer and consumer of agricultural products. The annual consumption of fresh agricultural products exceeds 1 billion tons. Doing a good job in connecting the production and marketing of agricultural products is of great significance to promoting the overall revitalization of rural areas." Wu Chuanliang, deputy director of the Circulation Industry Promotion Center of the Ministry of Commerce, said that holding this event aims to increase farmers' income and get rich, serve people's livelihood and ensure circulation supply, and promote the deep integration of modern agriculture and the modern market system. In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will give full play to the leading role of commercial circulation in guiding production and promoting consumption, accelerate the digital, intelligent, and standardized transformation of the agricultural product supply chain, establish a long-term mechanism for docking production and marketing, and contribute to better serving the overall revitalization of rural areas.

It is reported that since 2018, the Ministry of Commerce has held a series of national agricultural product production and sales docking activities every year. In 2025, the Ministry of Commerce upgraded to hold the National Agricultural Products Production and Marketing Conference. More than 4,600 agricultural product wholesale markets, e-commerce platforms, and supermarket chains actively participated, purchasing a total of 20.59 billion yuan in agricultural products. The number of purchasers and the purchase amount both hit a record high, becoming an important starting point for commercial assistance to farmers.
