The Xinyi Building at Zhubei Junior High School in Hsinchu County is over half a century old. The buildings are old and the facilities are aging. The county education bureau has decided to invest more than 452.6 million yuan in demolition and reconstruction. The bid has been awarded recently and construction will begin soon. The estimated construction period is three years and the building will be completed by the end of 2029.

County Education Director Cai Shuzhen said that Zhubei Junior High School was founded in 1956 with an area of ​​about 3.4 hectares. It is a time-honored and important regional education base in Zhubei. Due to the development of Zhubei, many junior high schools have been added one after another. However, for the past 70 years, Zhubei Junior High School has continued to play an important junior high school education field in the western district of Zhubei. The Xinyi Building of the school is full of memories of many Zhubei people studying in their youth, from classroom learning, club activities to graduation ceremonies.

Now, after 54 years, Xinyi Building has successively undergone earthquake-resistant reinforcement, waterproofing and insulation, and various repair projects. However, due to the old building and long-term use, it is no longer able to meet the needs of modern education. Therefore, after an overall evaluation, it was decided to demolish and rebuild, giving the old campus a new look.

The planned new Xinyi Building is a teaching building with 5 floors above ground and 1 floor underground, with 7 classrooms on each floor and a total of 35 classrooms. It is equipped with parking space. In the future, it will be used as a multi-disciplinary teaching space such as art, special education, and arts.

Zhubei Junior High School has been recognized by parents and has added classes for four consecutive years. Currently, the school has a total of 32 classes. The Education Bureau assesses that with the emergence of surrounding urban development and redistricting, the number of students will continue to rise steadily in the future. In recent years, the school has successively added a library, Zhubei Community College, a student counseling center, and a career exploration center. Therefore, it is expected that the reconstructed Xinyi Building will be better able to cope with future educational development.
