A first-year student of the Department of Architecture at National United University died in a car accident while riding Wuling down a mountain at night. The school is grieving and is fully assisting the family.

A first-year student of the Department of Architecture at National United University, surnamed Li, was involved in a collision in Guoxing Township, Nantou County yesterday morning (11th). He unfortunately died after being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. National United University issued a statement today (12th) to express its deep sorrow. President Hou Diguang expressed his deep condolences to the family members of the family who lost their beloved son, and stated that all teachers and students of the school will fully support the family members to tide over the difficulties.

The school pointed out that the campus safety center received a notification from fellow students at 9:50 a.m. yesterday. After receiving the notification, the class instructor surnamed Xu rushed to the hospital affiliated to China Medical University and accompanied the family members who arrived at the scene throughout the process.

Hou Diguang said that he was extremely heartbroken and sad to see the death of a newly enrolled student in such a major accident. The school and all teachers and students will fully assist and accompany the family to deal with the follow-up matters. He also thanks everyone for their concern.

Several freshmen went down the mountain yesterday after rushing to Wuling Mountain the night before and planned to return to Miaoli County. On the way, the freshman surnamed Li collided with a small truck and the motorcycle rushed to the guardrail. Li Sheng was ejected and fell 6 meters below the nearby bridge. When firefighters arrived at the scene and contacted Li Sheng, he was unconscious.
