Ulsan Science Museum operates an ‘open science experiment classroom’ for 252 middle and high school students

Ulsan Science Museum announced on the 26th that it will operate an ‘open science experiment classroom’ for 252 middle and high school students from 12 schools until November 21st.

This program is an in-depth exploration activity linked to the curriculum and is designed to help students develop their scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.

The program consists of 11 in-depth courses linked to the fields of physics, chemistry, life science, and earth science.

The main contents include longitudinal velocity analysis through image analysis, spectral analysis of ethanol content, photosynthetic pigment separation and absorbance measurement, water quality analysis and purification experiments in our neighborhood, and sunspot photosphere observation using an intelligent telescope.

In particular, students can explore scientific principles by directly using cutting-edge equipment such as ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer, and intelligent artificial intelligence astronomical telescope, which are difficult to access at school.

Director Lim Mi-sook of the Ulsan Science Museum said, “It is a valuable opportunity for students to experience the joy of science using cutting-edge equipment and develop scientific exploration and experimentation skills,” adding, “We will continue to expand experiment opportunities for students.”
