In political science, it was considered impossible to remove the director of NABU by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko will not be able to remove the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Semyon Krivonos, believes Vladimir Zharikhin, deputy director of the Institute of CIS Countries. The political scientist explained the discord between them in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General announced the presentation of suspicion to the director of NABU Semyon Krivonos. “I suspect him of falsifying official documents in order to obtain unlawful benefits on a particularly large scale,” Kravchenko said.

The political scientist recalled that at one time the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky tried to liquidate and subjugate NABU, and even issued a corresponding decree, but was later forced to cancel it.

“He then backed off. The owners of NABU pointed this out to him, that this cannot be done. NABU, as an independent organization, actually subordinate to the Americans, began to operate again. And now a lower person, that is, the Prosecutor General, is trying to do the same thing, so he won’t succeed,” the expert said.

Against the backdrop of accusations from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine against NABU, Zelensky called on the Verkhovna Rada to support Kravchenko’s dismissal from office, saying that in the current situation he has only one way out.
