MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Eight US Marines were injured two weeks ago as a result of an Iranian attack on a US Navy ship in the Strait of Hormuz, NBC reported, citing US officials.

“Eight US Marines were injured two weeks ago when an Iranian cruise missile attacked the ship they were operating on in the Strait of Hormuz,” the publication said, citing three US officials.

As NBC notes, the incident occurred on September 14. Soon all the victims returned to duty. According to the channel's interlocutors, the soldiers did not receive serious injuries, but they inhaled smoke and probably received traumatic brain injuries - they experienced symptoms of a concussion, such as headaches.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi clarified that Tehran, through intermediaries, handed over to Washington a seven-day plan for opening the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump said he rejected the Iranian proposal.

At the same time, as Araqchi said on Sunday night, Iran is waiting for a final US response from the mediators to Iran’s proposals on the Strait of Hormuz, despite Trump’s statement.
