Widespread Arab and Islamic condemnation of the statements of Israeli ministers regarding the displacement of the population of Gaza

The Foreign Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt said that they condemn in the strongest terms the statements issued by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir and Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, and the plans and mechanisms they included in proposing the forcible removal of Palestinians from their land.

They said in a joint statement: “These inflammatory statements and proposals represent a flagrant violation of the principles of international law, including international humanitarian law, and a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.”

They affirmed their categorical rejection and condemnation of any attempts or plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people, whether inside or outside the occupied Palestinian territory, and under any name or pretext, warning of the dangerous consequences of converting calls to forced displacement, and into a declared policy or practical measures aimed at uprooting the Palestinians from their land.

The ministers added: "Such measures represent a direct challenge to international efforts aimed at achieving peace, foremost among which is President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, with its categorical rejection of forced displacement. It also entails serious risks that would undermine the chances of stability in the region."

They stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and the necessity of preserving the unity of the Palestinian territory in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, stressing that the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace is to implement the two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

The Foreign Ministers called on the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and firmly confront any attempts to impose a new demographic or geographical reality in the occupied Palestinian territory, and to ensure respect for the rules of international law, renewing their full support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, and their rejection of all attempts aimed at erasing the Palestinian issue or undermining the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
