70% of patients suffering from bee stings in Daegu over the past three years are concentrated between July and September.

In Daegu, the number of bee sting patients this year increased by 47.5% compared to the same period last year.

The Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters announced on the 6th that the number of patients transported by 119 emergency services due to bee stings from January to July was 87, an increase of 28 from 59 during the same period last year.

Of the 588 patients with bee stings over the past three years, 411 (69.9%) occurred between July and September.

17,813 cases, or 74.2% of the total 23,996 cases, were concentrated during this period.

The Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters explained that prior to outdoor work such as cutting bee plants or adult cats, you should check nearby beehives and if you find a beehive, do not remove it yourself but report it to 119.

If you experience difficulty breathing, dizziness, cold sweat, or hives all over your body after being stung by a bee, you should immediately call 119 as this can lead to anaphylactic shock.

Lee Byeong-jin, head of the rescue team at the Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters, said, "Before working on cutting grass or farming, you must sufficiently check for the presence of beehives in the surrounding area, and if any abnormal symptoms appear, you must seek hospital treatment without delay."
