A fatal car accident occurred on Beiyi Road in Xindian District, New Taipei City on the 4th of this month. When a man surnamed Liu was driving an SUV and was about to park on the side of the road, he was chased by a knight surnamed Lin from behind and hit the rear of the car. As a result, Lin and the car were ejected, causing severe chest injuries and internal bleeding. After ambulance personnel sent him to the hospital for first aid, he was pronounced dead the next day. After police inquiries, Liu was sent to court on suspicion of negligent death.

An investigation by the Xindian Police Station revealed that the 51-year-old Liu man drove his SUV back home at around 10 p.m. that day, while the 32-year-old Lin man rode a Honda CBR 250RR motorcycle and set off from Zhonghe District to Xindian to find friends. Liu Nan was passing through the intersection of Beiyi Road Section 1, Xindian and Wenzhong Intersection. When he veered to the right and was about to stop at the roadside, Lin Nan, who was going straight from behind, hit the rear of the right rear car, causing Lin Nan to fly off and fall to the ground. People passing by saw the incident and reported the incident.

It is understood that when the police arrived, they found Mr. Lin unconscious, with severe chest injuries and internal bleeding. He was immediately sent to Xindian Tzu Chi Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was still pronounced dead at 1:11 a.m. the next day.

The police pointed out that after testing that both parties were not involved in drug or drunk driving, they have reviewed relevant images to reconstruct the incident. After police inquiries, Liu was transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office for investigation on the charge of negligent death. As for the detailed cause of the accident and the attribution of responsibility, it still needs to be further clarified.
