A gang of 33 people was convicted in Engels for organizing illegal migration

In Engelsk, a court sentenced a gang of 33 people to real terms for organizing illegal migration. This was reported by MIA Media.

The defendants are the leader and participants of a criminal community (OCC) operating in the Engels and Ershov regions. The gang leader, his two closest associates and the rest of the participants were in the dock. The organizer received 17 years, his associates received 16.5 and 12.5 years in prison, and the remaining 30 members of the organized crime group received from nine months to seven years in prison.

As the court found, the defendants helped approximately six thousand foreigners illegally leave and enter Russia. They provided illegal migrants with safe exit to one of the neighboring states. Thus, they gave them the opportunity to avoid administrative liability. For the services provided, the convicts received from 1.5 thousand to two thousand rubles per passenger.
