A group of junior high school classmates turned out to be a tool for communist spies to infiltrate! A retired navy sergeant surnamed Ma became a spy and offered an intelligence fee of US$100,000 in an attempt to recruit the chief of the maritime patrol section and retired major general to spy on secrets. Fortunately, the two refused, and the case was prosecuted by the Tainan Branch of the High Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of violating the National Security Law and the Corruption Crime Ordinance.

Prosecutors' investigation revealed that Ma Nan had been recruited by the CCP's Taiwan unit as early as 2008. He accepted instructions from Chinese people with the pseudonyms "Li Wenxue" and "Chang Chengcheng" to develop an organization to spy on secrets in Taiwan. In early 2021, Ma Nan approached a retired major general named Wang, put Wang Nan in touch with Chinese Communist Party officials, and personally delivered 42,110 yuan in an attempt to attract the other party to spy on military combat intelligence and the cooperation agreement signed between the IOC and the United States. However, Wang Nan refused to cooperate, and Ma failed to succeed.

In 2023, Ma Nan turned to his junior high school classmates and used the LINE messaging software group to contact the current section chief of the Coast Guard named Yu. Ma Nan offered generous terms and promised to pay up to US$100,000 for delivering secrets by piece. If he cooperated for a long time, he could also receive monthly remuneration. Ma Nan first handed over 50,000 yuan in cash and a dedicated work mobile phone, instructing Yu Nan to spy on the maritime affairs exchange plan between Taiwan and the United States and Japan. However, Yu Nan did not cooperate, and the whole case was exposed by the task force as they had obtained information.
