Pinglu Canal opens to navigation for one week: Domestic and domestic trade routes open, water passenger transport heats up

In the first week of navigation, canal ships passed through the locks smoothly, the entire line operated smoothly and orderly, domestic and external freight routes were opened one after another, and the popularity of water passenger transportation continued to rise.

On September 23, the "Beigang Nanning Borun" vessel, the maiden voyage of the Pinglu Canal's "Nanning-Can Tho, Vietnam" foreign trade route, successfully arrived at the Port of Can Tho, Vietnam. The ship set sail from Nanning Port on September 16, the first day of navigation of Pinglu Canal, and went directly to the sea along the canal to Qinzhou Port, achieving direct access to the river and sea throughout the entire journey without the need for transfer, and directly arrived at Can Tho Port in Vietnam.

It is reported that this maiden voyage carried a total of 252 standard units (TEU), and the supply covered chemical raw materials such as Yuanming powder and chemical fiber glass in the Sichuan and Chongqing regions, as well as local advantageous industrial goods such as Guangxi automobile KD parts and artificial panels. Relying on Beibu Gulf Port Group's "one box to end" integrated logistics solution, export containers will be directly distributed to end customers across the Mekong Delta after arriving at the port. The ship returns to carry rice bran produced in the Mekong Delta and transports it back to the country to supply the breeding, grain and oil processing industries in the southwestern region.

Previously, on September 18, the ship "Guangxing 798", the maiden voyage of the Pinglu Canal's "Nanning-Hainan Yangpu" river-sea direct domestic trade route, successfully arrived at Yangpu Port. The ship also departed from the Liujing Operation Area of ​​Nanning Port on the first day of Pinglu Canal navigation, went south along the Pinglu Canal, went to sea via Qinzhou Port, and finally berthed at Yangpu International Container Terminal. This voyage carried 10 20-foot boxes of Yufeng cement, 30 20-foot boxes of Hanggui stone, 1 20-foot box of Red Lion clinker and Luohan juice produced in Guangxi.

The two routes, one internal and one external, work together to build a river-sea intermodal transport network that "connects the domestic coast internally and the ASEAN market externally". On the one hand, it helps more "Southwestern goods" and "Made in Guangxi" to go to sea at low cost. On the other hand, it promotes the efficient import of ASEAN specialty commodities into the southwest hinterland of China and continues to reshape the regional cross-border logistics pattern.

The dividends of the canal's navigation quickly radiated to the field of cultural tourism consumption. The popularity of the water service areas along the line continues to rise, and the demand for passenger flights is strong. Many foreign tourists drive there to experience the journey of "connecting the river to the sea". Water sightseeing on the canal is expected to become a new hot spot for regional holiday travel. According to data from the Pinglu Canal Group, four water passenger routes are planned to be launched along the canal during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and are expected to receive about 15,000 passengers.

Four passenger routes, including the Xinfu Water Service Area to Pingtang Jiangkou Loop, Xinfu Water Service Area to Madao Hub Loop, Qinzhou Water Service Area to Youth Hub Loop, and Qinzhou Water Service Area to Longmen Bridge Loop, connect the river intersection sections, canal hub locks and river-sea connecting waters, providing new options for tourists to immerse themselves in the rivers and seas and appreciate the scenery of the century project, and also inject new momentum into the integrated development of culture and tourism of the Pinglu Canal.
