This was the best result in Chongqing's history since participating in the "World Competition", ranking fifth in the country and first in the West in terms of awards.
Among them, digital construction contestant Luo Yu, automotive technology contestant Li Jiale, and beauty contestant Yao Miaomiao won gold medals, while network security contestants Chen Peng and Yin Liangrui and optoelectronic technology contestant Xiao Wanlin won silver medals.
It is worth mentioning that the digital construction event won my country’s first world championship gold in this event, achieving a “zero breakthrough” in gold medals. Since winning the first gold medal at the 43rd World Championships in 2015, Chongqing athletes have accumulated 10 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 2 wins, ranking first in the country.
Luo Yu is the "educational leader" among the Chongqing contestants. He studied from junior college to undergraduate to master's degree. He insisted on using BIM and digital twin new technologies to solve traditional construction problems, and finally won the first gold medal in digital construction projects on behalf of China. "This competition has truly cultivated the professional qualities of being stable, enduring, and able to quickly solve problems when encountering them." He said that in the future, he will continue to delve into the digital construction profession, transform the experience of the world competition into teaching capabilities, and lead more young people into the field of digital construction to educate and empower people with skills.
"The key to continuous polishing of skills is to apply what you have learned." Li Jiale is a young man from Henan. From the silver medal in the national competition to the gold medal in the world competition, he became more and more courageous through repeated trial and error, boring training and competition pressure. He said that after the competition, he will continue to consolidate skills such as car diagnosis and advanced driving assistance system calibration, apply the standards of the World Championships into practice, and share technical experience with more young learners.
"The process of carving beauty is also carving yourself." In order to stand on the World Championship stage, Yao Miaomiao has been preparing for four years. She starts physical training every morning, and during the day she repeatedly refines every detail of her technique under the guidance of her coach. After the coach leaves, she often practices alone with the props until late at night. "These four days of competition not only improved my skills, but also taught me to deal with pressure calmly. I will continue to practice hard and polish my skills, and share my skills with more young people who love skills," Yao Miaomiao said.
The reporter learned that behind Chongqing’s three gold medals and two silver medals this time is a system for cultivating skilled talents that integrates selection, training, exchange, guarantee, and motivation. During the 48th World Championship cycle, Chongqing established 106 municipal competition bases, covering all 64 competition events; it was approved for 23 Chinese training bases, ranking first in the western region in terms of the number of training bases in Chongqing; it established a player echelon of 498 people and a municipal competition expert team of 359 people.
At present, Chongqing has a total of 5.78 million skilled talents, including 1.85 million highly skilled talents, accounting for 32%.
