Hoseo University announces growth process and future vision in celebration of its 48th anniversary

Hoseo University announced on the 28th that it celebrated its 48th anniversary.

Hoseo University, which started in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province in 1978, expanded its campuses to Seoul, Asan, and Dangjin and grew into a university with 15,000 students.

After receiving approval as a comprehensive university in 1988, the Asan Campus was opened the following year, and in 2001, the educational base was expanded by receiving approval as a venture graduate school Seoul Campus.

Starting with the Brain Korea (BK21) project in 1999, Hoseo University was selected as a leading university for industry-academia cooperation and the Regional University Innovation Capacity Reinforcement Project (NURI) in 2004, the Talent Training Project for Leading Industries in the Metropolitan Economic Area in 2009, and the Leading University for Industry-Academia Cooperation (LINC) in 2012.

Recently, we are carrying out semiconductor specialized universities, startup-oriented universities, SW-oriented universities, data science convergence talent training projects, regional intelligence innovation talent training projects, and artificial intelligence (AI) talent training boot camps, etc., nurturing experts in cutting-edge fields and expanding joint research with companies, while focusing on discovering promising startups and technology commercialization and investment.

President Kang Il-gu said, “Hoseo University has pioneered a path not taken by others, rooted the venture spirit and opened up new possibilities,” and added, “Based on our 48-year history of taking on challenges, we will nurture talented individuals who will contribute to the nation and society and leap forward as a world-class university.”
