The 9th "National Unification and National Rejuvenation" Think Tank Dialogue opens in Enshi, Hubei

China News Service, Enshi, September 28 (Wang Bin) The 9th "National Unification and National Rejuvenation" Think Tank Dialogue opened in Enshi, Hubei Province on the 28th. More than 100 experts, scholars and Taiwan-related practitioners who are engaged in research on Taiwan issues and cross-strait relations participated in the discussion.

The event was hosted by Central China Normal University and the Hubei Cross-Strait Exchange Promotion Association, with the theme of "seeking peace for both sides of the Taiwan Strait, seeking welfare for compatriots, and seeking rejuvenation for the nation."

Wang Weixing, vice president of the National Taiwan Studies Association, pointed out that the current situation in the Taiwan Strait is at a historical juncture of profound changes. More and more Taiwan compatriots yearn for peace and stability, support integrated development, and face up to the issue of reunification. He proposed that on the common political basis of adhering to the "1992 Consensus" and opposing "Taiwan independence," political parties and all walks of life on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should elect representative figures to conduct extensive and in-depth democratic consultations on cross-Strait relations and the future of the nation.

Cheng Liangsheng, president of the Hubei Cross-Strait Exchange Promotion Association, said he hopes that people of insight on the island will give full play to their influence and appeal to guide the people on the island to recognize the dangers of "Taiwan independence" and jointly safeguard the fundamental interests of the nation. Experts and scholars on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can give full play to their own strengths, educate people with culture, educate people with culture, and promote integration with culture, so that compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can eliminate barriers and get closer through cultural resonance.

Xia Lixin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Central China Normal University, said that it is necessary to give full play to the role of bridges between universities and think tanks, expand the scope of cooperative research between scholars on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, deepen cultural, educational and youth exchanges, let common cultural memories continue in exchanges, and let true compatriots' friendship grow in exchanges.

The "National Reunification and National Rejuvenation" think tank dialogue aims to promote cross-Strait economic, cultural, and social fields to strengthen communication, build consensus, and enhance mutual trust through academic exchanges.
