"Onboarding" in multiple scenarios: Anhui Robot's "new employees" are quickly in place

China News Service, Hefei, November 5 (Reporter Zhang Jun) In Anhui, robots are becoming "new employees" in more and more scenes: they are operating in factory workshops, shopping mall counters, transportation hubs, and elderly care institutions.

The reporter learned from the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology on the 5th that from January to September this year, the province’s industrial robot production reached 43,000 units; service robot production reached 29,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 63.9%; humanoid robot production increased by more than 10 times year-on-year.

Behind these data is Anhui's efforts to promote the development of robots and embodied intelligence industries, and to accelerate the implementation of the industry from policy planning to the front lines of production and life.

The newly issued "Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the People's Government of Anhui Province on Promoting the High-quality Development of the Robot Industry" clearly states that by 2030, the output of industrial robots will enter the forefront of the country, and the output of humanoid robots will enter the first echelon in the country. By 2035, the output of industrial robots and humanoid robots will further compete for the leading position, and a robot industry cluster with important national influence will be built.

Real money support is also following suit. Anhui plans to coordinate 500 million yuan (RMB, the same below) of provincial fiscal funds every year and establish a 10-billion-scale robot industry fund group; in 2026, the first batch of policy implementation has allocated more than 100 million yuan in reward and subsidy funds, covering 91 projects.

Enterprises and industrial chains grow simultaneously. In the first eight months of this year, Anhui signed 81 new robotics industry projects with a total investment of 15.1 billion yuan, and the investment increased by more than 50% year-on-year. Eft Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. has invested in building a robot super factory, and Hefei Zero Robot Co., Ltd. has put humanoid robots into production and ramped up production... From self-research of core components to complete machine integration, from the establishment of industrial parks to the construction of a data ecosystem, Anhui has formed a complete robot industry chain.

The final destination of industrial development is scene application. In Anhui, high-performance wheeled dual-arm robots are already working in forklift production workshops; intelligent cleaning and patrol robots are stationed at high-speed rail stations; shopping guide robots are entering car 4S stores in batches; moxibustion, cupping, and physiotherapy robots are used in hospitals; embodied intelligent charging robots have been piloted in large bus stations...

The liveliest scene is in the neighborhood. On August 26, the Zero-Power Embodied Intelligent Robot Shop opened simultaneously at four locations including Lejie Street in Hefei, achieving round-the-clock operation. Citizens can get the goods delivered by the robot 20 seconds after scanning the QR code or placing an order by voice.

Up to now, Anhui has leveraged more than 2,000 robots into practical applications by releasing a list of scenarios, cultivating typical scenarios in layers, organizing scenario docking and other measures, allowing technology to be integrated into the market.
