Incheon City, five facilities including the city museum operate normally during the Chuseok holiday

Incheon City announced on the 23rd that the Incheon City Museum, Songam Art Museum, Geomdan Prehistory Museum, Korean Immigration History Museum, and Incheon Urban History Museum will operate normally from the 24th to the 27th, the Chuseok holiday.

These museums and art galleries operate various exhibitions and events free of charge during this holiday season where you can explore Incheon's history, culture, and art.

At the Incheon City Museum, a special exhibition ‘Incheon’s Intellectuals Who Reveal Joseon’ will be held.

You can get a glimpse into the lives and studies of scholars and thinkers who settled and worked in Incheon through about 100 pieces of data, including related ancient documents, focusing on figures who led the intellectual life of Incheon in the late Joseon Dynasty, such as Byeongwa Lee Hyeong-sang, Sonam Yun Dong-gyu, and Hagok Jeong Je-du.

A special exhibition, ‘The Craftsman’s Breath in Wood Grain,’ is held at the Songam Art Museum.

This is an exhibition that highlights the tradition of woodcraft in the Incheon region and the value of intangible cultural heritage, and will feature about 50 works, including Ganghwa bandadori, mother-of-pearl jeonjang, and hwagakjang.

At the Geomdan Prehistory Museum, a special children’s experience exhibition ‘Secrets Hidden in Rocks, Incheon Dolmen Story’ welcomes visitors.

It is an experiential exhibition that introduces everything from the history of megalithic culture to Incheon's dolmen culture in an easy-to-understand manner and allows visitors to touch it for themselves.

You can also experience setting up a dolmen with grave goods and take pictures with the dolmen in the background.

The Korean Immigration History Museum is holding a special exhibition, ‘Days Trapped in Paradise, Records of Korean POWs in the Hawaiian POW Camp’.

It was prepared to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the return to Incheon of 2,700 Korean prisoners of Hawaii who had left their homeland due to conscription and conscription during World War II.

Incheon Urban History Museum is hosting a children’s experiential exhibition ‘Let’s Go! We operate a ‘tidal flat city’.

This is an exhibition where you can learn about the secrets of the tidal flat city along with your 'Spoonbill' friend, and can be viewed by children aged 7 to elementary school accompanied by a guardian.
