Taiwan's Foundation Member Wu Hsintai criticizes Li Baiyi of the Kuomintang for exercising privileges in the emergency room

KMT Taipei City Councilor Li Baiyi was exposed by the public for "exerting privileges" in the emergency room, yelling at medical staff and disrupting order in the medical workplace. Wu Xindai, candidate for Taiwan's Jijin City Council in Taipei City's second district (Neihu, Nangang), criticized that from Zhong Xiaoping forcing his way into the director's office of National Taiwan University Hospital with a famous movie to Li Boyi causing an emergency incident, KMT politicians seem to be immersed in privileges.

Wu Xindai pointed out that Li Baiyi had recently "vindicated" the Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan's son's use of public funds to travel abroad in a political commentary program, shouting "privileges are nothing" and "trouble in the future, children of high-ranking officials will not be able to participate in public activities." As the son of former congressman Li Xin, Li Baiyi has been groomed as a successor since he was a child, and the label of the second generation of politics has always been with him.

Wu Xindai said that as a grassroots medical nurse, it is certain that when Li Boyi yelled at the nurse in the hospital emergency room, the medical staff must have endured the deafening volume of his voice on the show. Faced with the accusation of causing an emergency incident, Li Boyi complained that "no parent would bother the medical staff in the middle of the night for no reason" and "waited for half an hour." Wu Xindai is even more sarcastic, which fully reveals his arrogant mentality that he thinks it is justifiable to curse people in the emergency room; this is exactly the same as the logic that it is his legal right to escort Jiang Wanan's children to squeeze out other people's places. The public simply cannot accept the continued escort of these people who abuse their privileges to the point of being unconscious.

Regarding the operation of the privileged class, Wu Xindai analyzed that there is a privileged class in Taiwanese society that has been inherited from the party-state period, as well as a system that is supported by ordinary people and relies on strength to compete after democratization. In the power center of Taipei City, the privileged class still has a huge space to operate. From competition in school districts, little-known government quotas, to job opportunities that require "knowing someone", many people are used to daily life. What the privileged class fears most is that someone will expose these "hidden rules" that are taken for granted in the sun.

Wu Xindai emphasized that these people in power are often used to rationalize their actions with reasons such as "just reflecting for the people", "too anxious for children to get sick", "children are also eligible to participate", "it is not illegal", etc., which seem justified when taken alone. But society must ask, if today we don’t have this surname, this father, and these connections, can ordinary people get the same opportunities? "Avoiding suspicion" and "breaking the law" are two completely different things.
