Judge Park Joo-young, Criminal Division 3 of the Busan District Court, announced on the 29th that he sentenced Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of violating the Narcotic Drugs Control Act (psychiatry), to 2 years and 6 months in prison.

On the morning of March 4, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of secretly mixing 0.035g of Philopon in water at his residence in Busanjin-gu, Busan, and then giving it to a woman, B, to drink.

Mr. A was also accused of taking 0.035g of Philopon on the same day.

At the trial, Mr. A denied the charges, saying that he had not secretly given Philopon mixed in water to Mr. B.

However, the court did not accept Mr. A's claim based on Mr. B's statement, the conversation between the two recorded at the time, and the urine test results.

Judge Park said, "There are some things that are somewhat difficult to understand, such as why Mr. B went to the home of a defendant whom he did not know well, or how he recorded a long conversation, but the overall statement is generally consistent and specific from the investigative agency to the court."

Subsequently, in the recorded conversation, the fact that Mr. A continued to recommend drugs and Mr. B clearly refused several times, and that Mr. A said that he mixed the drugs with water were also cited as grounds for a guilty verdict.

On the day of the incident, Mr. B's urine test came back positive for Philopon.

Mr. A has been punished for drug crimes several times in the past, and in March of last year, he was sentenced to six months in prison for violating the Narcotic Drugs Control Act. He was released from prison in January of this year and was found to have committed the crime again less than two months later.

Judge Park stated the reason for his sentencing, saying, "Despite having a history of serving a long time in prison for similar crimes and sexual crimes, he committed the crime immediately after being released from prison." He added, "The nature of the crime is so bad that it goes beyond simply administering methamphetamine and making a woman he met for the first time drink water containing methamphetamine and then denying the crime."
