Anhui Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Information Traceability Platform was established and promoted to all varieties and batches throughout the province

In recent years, Anhui has explored the use of information technology to empower the upgrading of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and regulatory innovation. Among them, through pilot projects, the province was the first in China to build an information traceability platform for traditional Chinese medicine pieces, effectively promoting the digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading of the traditional Chinese medicine industry.

The platform has set up three major functions: traceability of prepared pieces, collaborative services and traceability supervision. According to the method of "one code for one item, and tracking of items with code", it promotes the information-based traceability of the entire process of production, circulation and use of traditional Chinese medicine pieces produced in Anhui.

Nowadays, multiple departments in Anhui are jointly promoting the information traceability of traditional Chinese medicine pieces. Based on the early pilot, it has gradually expanded to the province's traditional Chinese medicine piece production and operating enterprises and second-level and above medical institutions. The varieties have also expanded from key varieties such as toxic pieces, centralized procurement pieces, expensive and fine pieces, etc., to all varieties and all batches.

Chen Yongmei, deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Food and Drug Administration, said that the platform provides automatic record generation, query and statistical functions in procurement, production, sales and other links, reducing a large amount of manual recording and data statistics work for enterprises, and improving enterprise management efficiency.
