Helicopter rappelling skills training for Guangdong emergency rescue team concluded

China News Service, Guangzhou, September 8 (Reporter Wang Jian) ​​According to the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Management Department’s news on the 8th, the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Management Department’s first 2026 professional emergency rescue team helicopter rope descent skills training (re)training concluded at Zhuhai Jiuzhou Airport on the 7th, effectively improving the professional emergency rescue team’s air assault professional rescue skills level, thereby more effectively responding to various major emergencies.

According to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Emergency Management, the first batch of 30 professional emergency rescue team members came from Zhuhai, Qingyuan, and Meizhou emergency management systems. After 7 days of paramilitary rappelling skills training, each person completed 10 ground rappelling trainings and 1 tower rappelling training. 0 times, 12 rappel trainings on helicopters, with a total flight time of 24 hours, all of which passed practical examinations such as single-person rappelling, single-person rappelling with weight, double-person rappelling, bag precise rappelling, rappelling combined with rescue sets, and rappelling in narrow spaces on complex terrain.

It is understood that a total of 260 members will be trained (re)trained on helicopter rappelling skills of the professional emergency rescue team in 2026, including: 15 members each from Guangzhou City and Shenzhen City, 10 members from each of the remaining 19 cities at or above the prefecture level, 20 members from the Provincial Fire Rescue Corps, and 20 members from the Guangdong Fire Rescue Mobile Corps. It adopts a combination of theory and practical training and is divided into 7 phases, with each training period lasting 7 days.

The Guangdong Provincial Department of Emergency Management stated that in the next step, the Guangdong Provincial Disaster Prevention and Reduction Center (Guangdong Provincial Comprehensive Risk Monitoring and Early Warning Center, Guangdong Provincial Emergency Aviation Rescue Center) will continue to carry out each period of helicopter rappelling skills training (re)training, comprehensively improve the professional emergency rescue team’s professional air assault rescue skills, and provide strong support for handling various major emergencies.
