General Secretary Xi Jinping awarded medals to the winners of the "July 1st Medal", shook hands cordially with them and expressed congratulations, and the audience burst into warm applause.
The "July 1st Medal" was established by the Party Central Committee and is the highest honor within the Party. It is awarded to Party members who have made outstanding contributions and created valuable spiritual wealth in the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the new great project of Party building.
The "July 1st Medal" is generally awarded on the fifth or tenth year of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On June 29, 2021, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee awarded the "July 1st Medal" for the first time.

The "July 1st Medal" takes simplicity and solemnity as the main design concept, and uses red, gold and white as the main colors. The chapter body adopts elements such as party emblem, five-pointed star, flag, monument and light, sunflower, mountains and rivers, wishful auspicious clouds and so on. The party emblem reflects the leadership and core status of the party. The five-pointed star symbolizes the lofty ideals and legacy of communism. The monument and light symbolize the glorious history and great achievements of the party. The sunflower symbolizes the close unity of the entire party and the country around the Party Central Committee. The mountains and rivers reflect the ideals and pursuits of party members. The auspicious clouds symbolize the prosperity and harmonious development of the motherland. The flag symbolizes the eternal struggle to realize revolutionary ideals under the leadership of the party.
The "July 1st Medal" uses a fabric ribbon and uses elements such as sunflowers, rays, and stars, which means that under the sunshine of the Party, the recipients of the medal will serve the Party wholeheartedly, serve the people wholeheartedly, not forget their original aspirations, keep their mission in mind, and forge ahead.
At the same time, the medal is made using a variety of techniques such as cold pressing, filigree inlay, and colorful silk brocade, which demonstrates the power of cultural inheritance. It is a living proof of China’s excellent traditional culture and a vivid epitome of the integrity and innovation of the ceremonial system of a major party and a major country in socialism with Chinese characteristics.
