A Hong Kong man was beaten outside Taipei Shilin MRT Station due to a misunderstanding. The police pursued the perpetrator in accordance with social security laws.

A Hong Kong man surnamed Han, who was traveling in Taiwan, suddenly yelled a Hong Kong-language curse when he was about to step out of Taipei's Shilin MRT station. Two people passing by him misunderstood that he was scolding them, and beat him on the spot before running away. The police were reported to be at the scene. Han Nan was unwilling to press charges because he would be returning to Hong Kong the next day. However, based on surveillance footage, the police believed that the two men were suspected of violating the Public Order Maintenance Act, and they still wanted to investigate their illegal behavior.

The police said that around 5 pm yesterday, when Han Nan was walking out of Shilin MRT Station, he cursed in Hong Kong for no apparent reason. As a result, he attracted the attention of two men waiting outside the MRT station. The other men believed that Han Nan was scolding them and immediately stepped forward to argue. Without saying a few words, they beat Han Nan. Because there were so many people after get off work at that time, many tourists stopped to check and secretly called the police.

Although the Shilin Branch immediately dispatched personnel to the scene upon receiving the report, the two men suspected of assaulting had already left. Han Nan had no obvious injuries and considered that he had other subsequent trips and could no longer stay in Taiwan, so he considered himself unlucky and refused to file a complaint.

Although Han Nan did not file a complaint, the police reviewed the relevant images taken by passers-by at the scene and confirmed that the two men had violently beaten Han Nan. The police will still handle the case based on the images and relevant evidence at the scene and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the social security law. They will follow the clues to find out the identity and whereabouts of the two men involved in the case, notify the case report, and then transfer the relevant evidence to the investigation team for further investigation.
