Wu Zongxian, candidate for mayor of Yilan County of the Kuomintang, paid a visit to Hsinchu Mayor Gao Hong'an to exchange ideas on issues such as the science and technology industry, the welfare of the elderly and urban governance. He hopes to connect the Bamboo Miao Science and Technology Corridor with Yilan's development advantages and bring high-value, low-pollution potential industries to Yilan to take root.

Wu Zongxian's bid issued a press release today (23rd) stating that Wu Zongxian proposed the "Yilan Line + 1" cross-county and city cooperation strategy in March and visited various counties and cities. Recently, he made a special trip to Gaohong'an, hoping that urban cooperation can be implemented from concepts to concrete actions.

Wu Zongxian said that Hsinchu is an important science and technology industry cluster in Taiwan, and Yilan has the Yilan Science Park, which has a vast hinterland and land price advantages. Through this complementarity, the two places can develop and expand their advantages. The current land utilization rate of Yike is only about 40%. After he becomes the county magistrate, he will make Yike investment a top priority, connect the Zhuzhu Miao Science and Technology Corridor, introduce semiconductors, big data, and AI industries, so that high-value, low-pollution potential industries can take root in Yilan.

Wu Zongxian promised to bring more high-paying and developmental job opportunities to Yilan to find a stage in his hometown, and at the same time attract more outstanding talents to Yilan to drive a positive cycle of industry and talent. Gao Hongan also promised to help match up some industries to move to Yilan to increase job opportunities. The two have full confidence in the future cooperation between Yilan and Hsinchu.
