The doctor named the early signs of alcoholism

To identify alcoholism, first of all you should pay attention to finding reasons for a feast, said narcologist Roman Ustinov to Poliklinika.ru. He shared his comment with Lenta.ru.

Another alarming signal, according to the doctor, will be when a person does not consider himself an alcoholic and reacts categorically to the comments of loved ones, argues for addiction by saying that he can quit at any moment, or justifies it with circumstances, says that everyone drinks and I do, or that he needs alcohol for his mood, to sleep better or relieve stress.

“Your appearance will also help you understand that alcohol has already become a habit: when the skin becomes rougher, redness and swelling appear, often the eyes are red. A person becomes less clean and tidy in his clothes, his irritability, short temper, and anxiety increase,” Ustinov noted.

The doctor reminded that there is no safe dose of alcohol, and when the first signs appear, time may already be lost.

“There are people who drink every weekend and can actually stop for six months or more. And there is the final stage of alcoholism, when a person needs literally 100 g of vodka a day, every day, to maintain constant intoxication,” Ustinov added.
